Indian Super League is a cash-rich football league in India and has international league standards. The organizers had set up numerous awards for the teams/clubs upon their performance and ISL rankings. These ISL awards include ISL Cup, Runner-up reward, League winner Shield, Semifinalists rewards, and some individual awards.

The tournament of the Indian Super League started in 2014 with eight Indian football teams/clubs. With time, the league expanded to 11 teams from 2014 to 2023. Some new teams were introduced in the tournament while two teams merged into one. One football team/club was dissolved due to some reasons and the name of one team was changed. Now there are a total of eleven teams/clubs which are also known as ISL franchises.
